Symptoms
GSM may include:
- Vaginal dryness
- Burning or irritation
- Pain during intercourse
- Reduced lubrication
- Urinary urgency or recurrent urinary symptoms
Important
GSM is very common after menopause and tends to progress if left alone. Several effective treatments exist — from simple moisturisers and lubricants to local hormonal therapy and, in selected cases, energy-based treatment. Which one suits you depends on your symptoms, your medical history and your preference. See also our menopausal clinic.
Next steps
Every one of these procedures begins with an in-person gynaecological assessment. At that consultation we go through your concern, examine where necessary, explain which options are genuinely suitable for you — including doing nothing — and give you a clear estimate before anything is scheduled.
