How is it proposed to work?
Laser energy may stimulate collagen remodelling and tissue healing, potentially improving:
- Vaginal tissue quality
- Sensation of laxity in some women
- Vaginal dryness associated with certain hormonal changes
- Some vulvovaginal symptoms
Who may consider it?
Women who report:
- A sensation of vaginal laxity after childbirth
- Changes in vaginal tissue with aging
- Vaginal dryness or discomfort, after appropriate evaluation
Important points
- It is generally an office-based procedure with little downtime.
- Results are variable and may require a series of treatments.
- Evidence for laser vaginal "tightening" is limited, and it should not be presented as equivalent to surgical vaginal tightening.
- For pelvic-floor weakness or postpartum laxity, pelvic-floor muscle training / physiotherapy should also be considered.
Important
We would rather you heard this from us than found it out afterwards: the evidence for laser tightening is limited, and it is not a substitute for surgery or for pelvic-floor physiotherapy. For many women the physiotherapy route is the better first step, and it costs less. That conversation happens before anything is booked.
Next steps
Every one of these procedures begins with an in-person gynaecological assessment. At that consultation we go through your concern, examine where necessary, explain which options are genuinely suitable for you — including doing nothing — and give you a clear estimate before anything is scheduled.
